Intrinsic Imaging Announces Acquisition, Accelerating Global Expansion as a Leading Imaging Core Lab

Acquisition marks a significant new chapter in Intrinsic Imaging's 16-year history as a leading imaging core lab.

BOSTON, Mass. — September 1, 2026 — Intrinsic Imaging, a globally recognized leader in medical imaging core lab services and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled imaging trials, today announced its acquisition by Acquired Imaging from WCG Clinical, Inc. This acquisition marks a significant new chapter in Intrinsic Imaging's 16-year history as the company continues to advance its imaging capabilities and support clinical trials worldwide. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2010, Intrinsic Imaging provides comprehensive imaging core lab services for Phase I–IV clinical trials and Class I, II, and III medical device studies. The company is also a recognized leader in AI validation studies designed to evaluate AI algorithms, computer-aided detection (CAD) systems, and advanced medical imaging software.

With more than 1,000 board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians in its network, and supporting over 4,000 imaging centers in 64 countries, Intrinsic Imaging provides subspecialty expertise across all major therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiology, central nervous system disorders, gastroenterology, musculoskeletal conditions, and ophthalmology.

Intrinsic Imaging has the most sophisticated and comprehensive quality management system in the imaging core lab industry. Certified by the British Standards Institute (BSI), Intrinsic Imaging is the only company in the world to hold five ISO certifications specifically for the provision of imaging core lab services for clinical trials.
