Therapeutic Area Overview

As an ISO Certified Imaging Core Lab, Intrinsic Imaging brings 750+ board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians and deep subspecialization to every imaging endpoint in drug trials.

Matching the Modality, Biomarker and Read Design

Each therapeutic area has different sources of imaging variability. We select the modality and measurement method around the disease and treatment, then define the acquisition and review controls needed for the endpoint.

Structural, Functional and Molecular Measures

Oncology combines lesion-based and metabolic response. CNS programs may combine volumetric MRI, molecular PET and safety review. Cardiovascular programs measure function and vascular anatomy; MSK assesses joint structure, bone and muscle; GI combines endoscopy with bowel and liver imaging; ophthalmology integrates retinal structure with separately assessed visual function.

One Study, Multiple Specialty Workstreams

Studies that cross indications can coordinate multiple reader panels and assessment methods under a shared operational plan. For example, a program may need tumor-response review alongside cardiac safety imaging or neurological safety assessments. Separate blinding, training and scoring rules protect each endpoint while common site and data workflows support coordinated delivery.

Subspecialty Readers Matched to Your Indication

Every imaging endpoint is only as reliable as the physicians who read it. Intrinsic Imaging matches each trial with board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists and specialists who have direct clinical experience in the indication being studied — from neuroradiologists for CNS trials to musculoskeletal radiologists for osteoarthritis and orthopedic medical device studies.

Our network of more than 750 physicians allows us to staff blinded independent central review (BICR) panels for drug, biologic, medical device and AI trials of any size. Readers are trained on your protocol's response criteria and imaging charter before the first read, helping reduce variability and keep assessments consistent across sites in 64 countries.
