Challenge

Pediatric oncology trials enroll small, geographically dispersed populations for whom every week of delay carries clinical as well as operational cost. The sponsor required central review capability—encompassing MIBG scintigraphy, CT, and MRI with Curie scoring and INRC staging—to be fully operational within weeks, across 25 sites in 9 countries. Eligibility determinations in particular had to be returned rapidly, since enrollment decisions for these young patients could not wait on a slow central review queue.

Our Solution

Intrinsic Imaging completed the imaging charter and site training within four weeks, establishing the full central review framework on an accelerated schedule without abbreviating its rigor. Dedicated nuclear medicine readers provided real-time eligibility assessments, prioritizing screening examinations so that enrollment decisions proceeded without imaging-related delay. Central review of Curie scores and INRC staging then continued under the same charter throughout the trial, preserving consistency from first patient to last.

Results

  • First site activated in 30 days
  • Eligibility reads returned within 72 hours
  • No imaging-related enrollment delays
